Marketing campaigns are vital for the company's growth in every area. A marketing campaign usually aligns with the company's Goals or SMART. When you Right down your goals to achieve, whether to increase the company's profit or treat employees better, you will need to follow a SMART plan. SMART is defined as Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time based.

Specific: Make your goals logical and attainable for your company.

Measurable: Look for data that proves your company can achieve or is en route to achieving its Goal.

Attainable: Ensure you have more minor guidelines and goals that ensure you are making progress.

Relevant: The goals should align with the value your company wants to achieve.

Time-Based: Set a realistic time frame to achieve instead of overwhelming yourself.

We must keep in mind what is the difference between goals, strategies, and tactics. Strategies "Strategy is a strong overarching vision, intended to fulfill your predetermined goals and objectives," which can also be the light at the end of the tunnel. Tactics are defined as "Convenient things you do every day," which could be knowing how you can get to work faster daily. The Goal can be the goal you set yourself to accomplish with the marketing campaign.

Applying any Goal to your company can be highly beneficial with a proper timeline. Setting a SMART goal can bring a colossal advantage to your company; we must identify the weakness and strengths of the company's challenging customers.

In an article by Forbes, a journalist mentions, "With a clear understanding of these terms, the key is to build contextual linkage between the three concepts, working from the top down. Everything starts with clear business objectives. Make sure that you have SMART objectives in place —goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound". (Charlie Grinnel, 2020)

Now that you understand the SMART goals let us discuss how a company can utilize this strategy to create a marketing plan.

Let us utilize the example that your business would like to increase the sales of a specific product that will be introduced. Keep in mind the SMART Goal, which can be helpful; the main objective is to increase the sale of the product, The Goal. The company will increase its marketing behind the product, ensuring to post more ads on social media outlets, The strategy.

We will utilize KPIs described as "Key performance indicators." An article by Klipfolio describes KPIs as "A measurable value that a marketing team sets out to achieve over a specific time. For example, marketing KPIs can impact overall business performance". (Klipfolio, 2020) Ensuring you have a realistic goal can ensure that you are looking to improve monthly by looking at data.

Let us utilize a real-world example you might have to consider for your business. If we are looking to increase the marketing of your business Facebook ad is a good start. Facebook provides you with a clear data metric. Databox, a company that keeps track of data of campaigns run across social media platforms, explains that "The metrics you want to track will show up as soon as your ad is live in your Facebook Analytics dashboard." (Masooma Memon, 2022) We can utilize the metrics to view how many visits a post has received or the amount of awareness it can bring to the product. The Facebook ad campaign will rely upon the Time spent watching advertisements, the cost of products, and how many people used the link to purchase a product. This is a beneficial tool to help marketers achieve a higher level of sales for a company.

Understanding a company's SMART goals is extremely important for the marketing campaign to have a sustainable impact across the company.
