6-2 Blog: Preliminary Findings and Limitations
Apple (Golden Child) Streaming Service
Apple has been front of the line with marketing research ensuring they are targeting the right audience and developing the products people desire. Market research has helped organizations to develop innovative products, understand the target audience and keep up with the latest trends in the market. The research conducted by apple has helped the company gather information regarding other popular streaming services and allowed apple to understand some of the strategies other streaming platforms currently utilize. This research has allowed apple to understand better what to expect from the "Apple Evolution" streaming service.
The research will evaluate competitors' feedback on similar products, which will allow apple to make the proper adjustments to the streaming platform. Future trends are skeptical about making since the entertainment industry has taken such a sharp turn that it is hard to predict the future for streaming platforms. One thing is clear for apple, which is the overprice customers paying for streaming services and the dissatisfaction of having to pay for more than one subscription to watch a certain amount of shows, series, or live tv. The future trend of apple views is one where all the tv series, shows, and movies will be under one platform that allows users to view all the desired content available at that time.
The marketing strategy that apple has created has yet quite to fit the legal ethics of the entertainment industry because you are required to have Rights to Air something under a specific platform. Even though it is tough to have rights to all programs, apple, with its power, should be fine with purchasing Rights from managers or producers. The problem stems from having all the content available for costumer on the internet and then having to make them pay for something free, precisely what these streaming platforms are achieving. Industry standards, from outside looking in, seem like a bunch of corporations fighting to stream specific content under their platform, which is ridiculous because the customer pays the price. The goal is to create a steaming platform that builds trust with the customer and realize that we offer all the content they desire to have at the tip of their fingers. Limitations are hard to come by with apple as the company has immense connections in all aspects of technology. The biggest flaw we might encounter is getting the Right to stream all the content, but Apple should have enough resources to overcome this problem. One good example is "Pirate bay" before music streaming services such as apple music were available. "Pirate bay" was a small company with limited connections and could not break into the market. The moment "Spotify" showed up with the same idea but with legal rights, everything changed.
